Valley View Educational Enrichment Foundation

Valley View School District 365-U, serving Bolingbrook and Romeoville, enjoys a solid partnership with The Valley View Educational Enrichment Foundation. This partnership brings educational opportunities to our students that can not be funded through the District budget. Since 1994, estimates indicate that over 100,000 students have benefited from the programs designed by District staff and funded by the Foundation. In our first eighteen years, the Foundation has been able to award 675 grants totaling $1,100,000. In the 2012-13 school year, 20 grants were awarded for a value of over $34.000.

The Valley View Educational Enrichment Foundation was incorporated in March 1990 by Richard Kavanagh (then School Board President), Dr. Harry Hayes (then Valley View Superintendent), and Madeline Jascewsky with the help of School District Attorney Barry Moss. The Foundation was formed to help those teachers who wanted to go above and beyond for their students. They were reaching into their own pockets and reaching out wherever they could to make a difference in the lives of our children.

The Foundation is a registered not-for-profit, 501(c) (3), corporation. The Foundation is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors, composed of business and community members, from Bolingbrook and Romeoville. As a result of the volunteerism, funds raised go toward the programs, not salaries. The major fundraising event for Foundation is a dinner and auctions held in March of each year. Other activities include the Annual Golf Outing, Community Spelling Bee, and alternating annual Raise-A-Stink and Quacks for Greenbacks Duck Race events.
